Michael L. Chartan serves as Of Counsel to Rich, Intelisano & Katz, LLP. His practice focuses on the Construction Industry including litigation, mediation and arbitration of disputes such as breach of contract, wrongful termination, change orders, extensions of time, delay damages, property damage, construction insurance issues and mechanic’s liens. Mr. Chartan has tried jury and non-jury cases in the New York State Courts and Federal Courts. He has also represented clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings. His clients have included individuals and entities involved in the construction industry, some of which are Fortune 100 companies and public clients.
Mr. Chartan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Binghamton University where he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Chartan was awarded his Juris Doctor degree from Duke University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Chartan is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City New York, Nassau County Bar Association and New York State Bar Associations where he participates in committees relevant to his practice areas.
Mr. Chartan started his career as a government attorney. He was formerly a partner Duane Morris LLP where he focused on the construction industry. He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and he is also a New York Metro Super Lawyer in construction.
